Snow alert for parts of UK as temperatures in Birmingham look set to plummet by 10°C

As some parts of the United Kingdom prepare for the first snowfall of autumn, Birmingham is bracing itself for a drop in temperature of approximately 10°C.

There have been reports of some light dustings of snow in northern Scotland however this could spread to other parts of the United Kingdom as temperatures drop over the coming days.

It’s unlikely Birmingham will see snowfall in the coming days however the temperature is set to drop significantly.

The feels-like temperature in Birmingham on Thursday afternoon was 15°C, according to Met Office weather experts however, it looks like temperatures could drop by as much as 10°C by Sunday.

This evening and tonight:

Daytime rain continues into the evening and overnight for some as a band of rain passes eastwards in the early morning. Blustery conditions expected in the early hours. Minimum temperature 12 °C.

Friday:

Longer drier spells and sunshine after the rain band clears to the east, leaving some scattered showers in the afternoon. Breezy at times, feeling slightly cooler. Maximum temperature 17 °C.

An unsettled weekend with showers or longer spells of rain, strong winds and potential coastal gales. Winds easing slightly by Monday, with sunny spells and showers.
