The temperatures across Birmingham could reach 20 degrees with a sunny week ahead.

Parts of the UK are set to be hotter than Istanbul this week too, with highs of 18C forecast. The Met Office predicts temperatures will peak on Wednesday and will be far above the average temperature for March.

The will be plenty of sunshine across the region over the next couple of days.

Temperatures are expected to reach around 16 degrees on Wednesday (March 19) and 19 degrees on Thursday afternoon (March 20) at around 3pm. Temperatures will remain relatively high going into the weekend before cooling on Sunday and dipping as we head into next week.

Wednesday: After a cold and frosty start, the rest of Wednesday will be dry, sunny and warm with light winds and blue skies. Maximum temperature 16 °C.

Outlook for Thursday to Saturday: Warm, dry and sunny on Thursday. Increasingly cloudy through Friday, showery rain possible in the afternoon. Cloudy on Saturday with a chance of rain and a feeling cooler.
