There is a yellow weather warning in some parts of the country - here is when rain will stop in Birmingham

There is a risk of thunderstorms, and further heavy rain between today (August 18) and Tuesday (22) in Birmingham, according to the MET office. There is a yellow weather warning in some parts of the country - which is worth keeping in mind if you have travel plans this weekend.

The weather on Friday (August 18) has been cloudy and rather humid as a band of heavy and thundery showers slowly clears northeastwards. It will briefly turn drier into the afternoon with some brighter spells with a maximum temperature 22 °C.

However, things will change tonight as the MET office predicts it will be become cloudier with heavy rain spreading northeast into the early hours, turning heavy and thundery at times. It will remain windy, particularly over any high ground and feel very humid even with minimum temperature of 16 °C. Between 8pm today to 2am tomorrow, there is chance of rain but th rain is expected to ease around 5am on Saturday (August 19), making it a good time to head outdoors.

On Saturday (August 19), there will be a cloudy start with patchy rain at times, but the weather will become drier and brighter through the morning with sunshine and scattered showers. It will feel a little less humid and winds will ease too. Maximum temperature is expected to be 22 °C. The MET office said it will be less humid on Sunday with scattered showers becoming increasingly isolated by Monday. It will be cloudier on Tuesday, with a few isolated showers still possible. It will feel warm in any sunshine with lighter winds.
