Birmingham weather: Hour-by-hour thunderstorm and heavy rain Met Office forecast amid 10 hour warning

The beautiful summer-like Birmingham weather has been forecast to end today (Sunday, May 12) and be replaced by a thunderstorm and heavy rain.
The Met Office has issued a 10 hour yellow weather warning for the city from 5pm to 1am on Monday amid warnings of spray and sudden flooding which could lead to difficult driving conditions and some road closures.

Hide AdLightning strikes could occur and there is a chance of delays and cancellations to train and bus services and a slight chance of power cuts in some areas - however previous forecasts for thunder in Birmingham at 5pm and 8pm have now been removed - while the weather warning remains in place.
The Met Office said: “A dry and bright start to the day with thundery showers developing in the afternoon bringing heavy rain, possible hail, and gusty winds. Feeling very warm Maximum temperature 25 °C.
“Heavy, perhaps thundery showers continuing this evening before clearing northwards. Turning drier overnight with clear spells by dawn. Staying mild. Minimum temperature 12 °C. Monday is expected to be another dry sunny day through the aftetrnoon, though not as warm as Sunday. Becoming more unsettled into the evening with outbreaks of heavy rain across western parts. Maximum temperature 18°C.”
