Birmingham weather: Met Office forecast as temperatures set to drop close to freezing

Birmingham’s Met Office forecast shows a sharp fall in the temperature across the city - yet there will be more sunshine

Following on from a mixed bag of weather in Birmingham, it looks as though some sunny days are ahead. According to the Met Office, there is no rain in the forecast for the city in the coming week. 

Sunday (January 15) will be cloudy with a high temperature of around 6C. This is likely to be the highest temperature in Birmingham until next weekend.

The chilly conditions will start to be felt on Monday as temperatures will drop to around 2C with a ‘feels-like’ temperature of around -2C. The cold feeling temperatures will remain for Tuesday but both days will be dry and bright for the most part.

Wednesday and Thursday will be slightly warmer but will still feel a chilly 0C across the region on both days.

Met Office forecast for Birmingham

January 14

Today will turn showery by the middle of the afternoon and winds will also strengthen further. Mild to start but turning colder during the afternoon. There will be a maximum temperature of 11C.

Clear spells and scattered showers, wintry over hills, through the evening and overnight. Remaining windy and gusty. Feeling colder than last night with a chance of frost over higher ground. Minimum temperature 2C.

January 15

Showers will continue in the north of the region, whilst it will be drier in the south with sunny intervals. Feeling rather cold in the initial strong winds, but these will ease into the afternoon into the afternoon. The maximum temperature will be 7C.

Temperatures will fall further into next week with frosty nights. A mixture of sunny spells and showers, falling as sleet or snow at times but increasingly isolated.
