The sun is shining across the West Midlands on Tuesday morning (May 7) - but will the nice weather last this week?

According to the Met Office, temperatures are also expected to rise to 20 and 21 degrees on Wednesday (May 8) and Thursday (May 9), with cloudy changing to sunny intervals throughout both days.

It’s also going to be another warm and relatively sunny weekend with temperatures of 22 and 21 degrees on Saturday and Sunday.

The warmer weather is expected to peak later in May. The Met Office long-range forecast for 9-18 May predicts there could be some ‘very warm days’ during those dates. So there’s no forecast for a heatwave just yet, but we can expect warmer and sunny weather throughout May in the Midlands.

What is the official Met Office forecast for the region?

Wednesday:

Low cloud, mist and fog soon clearing to leave another mostly dry day with bright spells of sunshine. Feeling warm with light winds. Maximum temperature 20 °C.

High pressure dominates for the rest of the week, bringing settled conditions and lots of dry weather. Feeling very warm with light winds. Mild overnight with fog patches possible.
