Birmingham weather forecast: Heavy rain and strong winds on the way for Birmingham on Thursday

The Met Office has issued a yellow weather warning for rain for some parts of the UK, with the storm coming close to Birmingham.

Several parts of the UK have been issued with a yellow weather warning for wind and rain by the Met Office. At present, Birmingham is not in the warning alert area but with it being only a few miles away, the city is sure to receive its own fair share of stormy weather on Thursday.

The weather warning issued by the Met Office will be active between 10am and 7pm on Thursday.  The wind and rain weather alert was issued shortly before 10am on Wednesday.

The rain is expected to be at its heaviest at around 2pm on Thursday. Likewise, this is also when the wind gusts will be at their strongest.

With a maximum temperature of 11°C, it will also be relatively cold on Thursday. The minimum temperature will be 6°C, according to the Met Office.

Experts at the Met Office predict the storm will approach from the west of the UK.

According to the Met Office, Birmingham will not see any rainfall until around 10am. From then, the rain will continue on, growing to its heaviest around 2pm, where there is a 90% chance of precipitation.

At 5pm, this will drop to 40%, until 8pm, where it will fall to 10%. From then on, the rain in Birmingham on Thursday should have cleared up.

There will also be heavy wind gusts from 10am until 4pm. They will be strongest at 2pm, where they will reach speeds of 36mph.
