After a rather gloomy first half of April, Birmingham and the West Midlands will start seeing some higher temperatures in the next few days as the UK is hit by a ‘soft heatwave’. Tuesday (April 18) is starting off with some low cloud, which is set to break up throughout the morning, showering the city in sun for a warm and dry day, according to the Met Office weater forecast.

Towards the evening, however, the skies will once again turn cloudier with occasional clear spells over night to Wednesday. The night is likely to feel rather cold, with temperatures around 6°C, so bring a jacket if you’re planning on staying out after dark.

With temperatures reaching up to 15°C on Wednesday, Brummies will be able to enjoy a largely dry day with some sunny spells and only a few odd showers. It will feel a little bit cooler as a strengthening breeze sweeps through the area.

There is some bad news if you were looking forward to a sunny and warm weekend, as rain is predicted to develop on Friday and Saturday. Temperatures will hopefully remain at around 11°C-13°C over the weekend, so while it might be wetter, it won’t be too cold.
