Birmingham weather: Heavy rain & windy conditions on the way - here’s when

Heavy rain is expected in Birmingham this morning (Monday, September 18), according to the Meteorological (Met) Office. Some parts of the UK, including Warwick in the West Midlands, are expected to be flooded as well. Despite the heavy rains, there are no weather warnings.

The Met office said about the weather today: “A band of heavy rain moves east across the region during the morning. Drier conditions following with sunny intervals and a chance of a few heavy showers. Blustery winds and feeling much cooler. Maximum temperature 18 °C.”

Cloudy conditions are expected around 11am with heavy showers commencing around 12pm today - which will continue for an hour or so. The chance of rain is 90% at 12pm, according to the Met office.

However, there will be a sunny period between 3pm and 7pm. Wind speed is expected to be between 9 and 16 mph. Visibility will be between medium and very good, and humidity will be high till 2pm before falling to 50% at 4pm.

Any lingering showers will quickly end through the evening, with mostly clear skies overnight. However, a band of cloud and rain will be arriving from the west around dawn tomorrow (Tuesday, September 18).

Tuesday is going to be wet and windy with patchy rain and drizzle for most of the day. It might turn drier by the evening but will be remaining breezy throughout. Maximum temperature is expected to be around 19 °C. Minimum will be around 12C. Humidity will be around 72% to 89%. Wind speed is expected to be between 10-19 mph. Rain is expected around 6am and is expected to last till 2pm.

Weather forecast for rest of the week

Between Wednesday and Friday, there will be periods of rain, which will be heavy at times mixed with sunny spells and light showers. It will be autumnal, often windy and cooler than usual.
