BBC Weather error forecasts hurricane and 14,000mph winds for UK

A technical blunder led to BBC Weather's alarming forecast of hurricanes and 14,000mph winds across UK cities, causing widespread confusion.

The BBC has confirmed the issue is the result of a technical glitch. To add to hurricane error, some areas reported a 0% chance of rain despite the high winds. Other cities, including Nottingham, were also been impacted by the glitch.

Lead BBC meteorologist Simon King addressed the error, assuring followers there was no cause for alarm.
