The Met Office has issued a yellow weather warning for snow and ice in Birmingham as temperatures plummet below freezing

Hide AdThe warning is currently in place on Saturday (December 2) and Sunday (December 3) with the potential for snow on Saturday night. Wintry showers are forecast overnight in Birmingham with some snow and ice possible, according to the Met Office.
The weather warnings covering much of the Midlands, Yorkshire, the North East and North West of England, and North and Central Wales. Tonight Aberdeenshire, Moray and Highland regions of Scotland are likely to see the lowest temperatures with -12C possible in some valleys in these regions, the forecaster said.

Wintry showers arriving from the west this evening, with perhaps a more persistent band of rain and snow for a time overnight. Some snow accumulations are possible in places, mainly over higher ground, with a risk of ice too. Minimum temperature -2 °C.
An icy start but largely dry through the morning. Staying cold and dreary for most with low cloud and hill fog throughout the day and further showery rain returning later. Maximum temperature 4 °C.
