I asked the people of Birmingham what it is they love most about their mum

It’s not long now until Mother’s Day - a time of celebration where we honour our mothers and motherhood, which exists all across the world. As we approach the special day, I decided to hit the streets of Birmingham to find out from the people here what it is they love most about their mom.
Speaking to BirminghamWorld, Cathleen said: “So I love my mum because she’s a really kind, compassionate person who’s done a great deal to support others - both in terms of her interpersonal relationships or day to day relationships, but all of the work that she’s done for charity. So I think if there were more people like my mom in the world, it’d be a much better place. So thank you to my mum.”

Hide AdFemi said:“Well, my mother is 89 years of age. And I wouldn’t be here if she hadn’t carried me for nine months and suckled me. So of course, we are totally reliant on women. And there’s just no question at all about that. And the more we have respect and recognition of the role of women in our lives, the better for all of us.”
Dwayne said: “She’s an inspiration. She does anything you want. She’s always there for me, regardless of whatever. And she’s got a good understanding, good advice. And I love her to bits.”
The people here in Birmingham clearly hold their mothers in high regard, so as Mother’s Day approaches, I thought I’d ask what they plan to do to celebrate it this year and show their mom’s their appreciation.
Jennifer told us: “How can I show my mom’s my appreciation on Mother’s Day? Well, do you know, I don’t know what she’d say. But I guess just spend some time with her - we always have fun together. So get together, I’ve got three children myself, so get the grandkids together and have a nice old cup of tea and a slice of cake, something like that. We’ll find some way to celebrate.”
