Hide AdRehman failed to stop for police and continued driving more than double the speed limit, through red lights and over taking other cars through Birmingham.
At one point, Rehman went the wrong way around an island and collided with another car before making off and eventually hitting a wall. The National Police Air Service tracked him running away from the crashed car, before officers detained him casually walking along Blakeland Street, in Bordesley Green.
The 23-year-old of Raymond Avenue, Great Barr, previously pleaded guilty to dangerous driving, driving whilst disqualified and failing to stop on Wednesday (30 August) was sentenced to 22 months in prison at Birmingham Crown Court and disqualified from driving for two years and 11 months.

What has West Midlands Police said?
PC Simon Smith from our Force Traffic Unit, said: “Rehman drove at incredibly dangerous speeds in his failed attempt to escape, all because he shouldn’t have been on the road in the first place. I hope this sentence shows Rehman and others that we will not tolerate dangerous driving on our streets and we will take action.”
