Sandwell Council leader to stand unopposed

The next leader of Sandwell council is set to stand unopposed. Councillor Kerrie Carmicheal is expected to take the top job after no other candidates were put forward.

The Labour councillor has represented Blackheath for nine year, and is set to officially take over from the interim leader on December 7th.

Perry Barr drug dealer jailed

The head of a £1.5 million illegal drug operation has been jailed following a police raid in Perry Barr. Adil Hussain was caught with 200,000 fake cigarettes and £28,000 in cash hidden in his garden. Hussain and two other men were part of an organised crime network operating between the Midlands and London.
