Tributes to “superhero” Oscar who died aged 10

West Midlands Police have paid tribute to a young boy who passed away and spoke of the lasting impression he made. Oscar Jealous - who had Batten Disease - wanted to spend a day as a policeman as part of his bucket list. He was granted that wish at Bournville Police Station.

Supermarket own brand products prices spiral as inflation increases to 9%

Joe Lycett joke investigated by police

Brummie comedian Joe Lycett has told how he was investigated by police following a joke he made while performing. A member of the audience contacted the police after claiming offence over the joke. The case has since been closed, and Lycett has ensured the joke will remain in his routine.

Joe Lycett is a comedian and presenter, best known for his recurring appearances on various panel TV shows, including Taskmaster, Live at the Apollo, and 8 Out of 10 Cats.  As a Comedian his life growing up in Birmingham is a prominent topic of many of his jokes, and stories. His popularity as a comedian and presenter has definitely skyrocketed, over the last 10 years, as his quirky personality has led him to lead many shows from,’The Great British Sewing Bee' and ‘Travel Man: 48 Hours in…’, to ‘Joe Lycett's Got Your Back.’  Lycett was born in Hall Green, Birmingham, and attended King Edward VI Five Ways grammar school.
