Tributes paid to mum-of-four who died in Bordesley Green

A devoted mum has paid tribute to her daughter who died after being found with serious injuries in Bordesley Green. She has been named as Marina Shaban. A forensic post mortem examination is in progress and West Midlands Police have launched a murder investigation.

Man jailed for killing his friend in a collision in Small Heath

A man has been jailed after killing his friend in a collision in Small Heath. Uzaifa Ahmed was drinking vodka, driving over twice the speed limit on the wrong side of the road before losing control and crashing into a tree. He’s been sentenced to eight years and eleven months at Birmingham Crown Court.

Holocaust Memorial Day commemorations at Millennium Point

Birmingham’s annual Holocaust Memorial Day took place at Millennium point to commemorate the victims and survivors of the Holocaust and Nazi persecutions. This year’s event included candle-lighting ceremony, as well as testimony from Holocaust survivor Mindu Hornick MBE.
