West Midlands Metro services suspended
The West Midlands Metro service was suspended on Sunday until further notice due to bodywork cracks on older trams being identified following inspections. Passes for the metro will be valid on alternative modes of transport until the service is back in operation.


Major fire breaks out in Maypole
A major fire broke out in Alcester Road South at 12:45am Monday morning. More than 30 firefighters tackled the blaze which was said to be extinguished quickly without spreading to other adjacent properties. Northfield Fire Station has since reported that nobody was hurt.

Police appeal for witnesses following the assault of a teenage girl in Solihull
Police have appealed for witnesses after a teenage girl was assaulted with a metal weapon in Solihull. The attack happened on Thursday 3rd February at 2:30pm near KFC on Chelmsley Circle. Police have arrested a 16 year old on suspicion of assault, and police are working to establish exactly what happened.
