Teacher charged with sexual assaults

A Birmingham teacher has been charged with sexually assaulting four schoolgirls. Muhammad Taimoor who works at a school in Birmingham has been charged with four counts of causing or inciting child sexual exploitation, sexual activity while in a position of trust, and two counts of trafficking within the UK. He was due at Walsall Magistrates’ Court on Monday (May 16).

Anti abortion protests could be banned

Birmingham City Council is consulting the public on whether to introduce a Public Space Protection Order to stop members of pro-life pro-choice groups protesting outside an abortion clinic in Kings Norton. The consultation will conclude on Monday 23rd May.

Ian Ward stays as leader of council

Ian Ward has been re-elected as the leader of Birmingham City Council following a challenge by councillors Waseem Zaffar and Liz Clements for the position. In the second round of the ballot, Ian Ward won by 33 votes to 31 for Waseem Zaffar, and will now hold the post for another four years.
