Skin cancer rates rising in Birmingham

New data shows that skin cancer rates are rising in the West Midlands. Between 2014 and 2019, cases of malignant melanoma increased by 19.8%, with other forms rising by 8.4%. A spokesperson from the British Association of Dermatologists says changes to sun-seeking behaviour may be a factor in the rise.

Bike thieves ram pensioner off road in Solihull

West Midlands Police are appealing for information after a Solihull pensioner was rammed off the road by a car, before having his bike stolen. A white car deliberately collided with the 81 year old, leaving him with a broken wrist and severe bruising to his legs and face.

Reckitt - the producers of Dettol and Durex - have been appointed as an official partner of the Birmingham 2022 Commonwealth Games. The partnership will see the company bringing hand sanitiser dispensers, disinfectant products and educational hygiene messages to the 15 competition venues.
