Jail for woman who assaulted pensioner

A woman who carried out a brutal attack on a pension has been jailed for seven and a half years. Samantha McDonnell broke into the 87 year olds flat and demanded money before assaulting him in his sheltered accomodation. The pensioner was left with a broken nose and a bleed on the brain. Arthur’s Killers’ have their sentences reviewed

The killers of Arthur Labinjo-Hughes are set to have their sentences reviewed. Senior judges are hearing challenges or appeals to the sentences of five killers, including the whole life sentences of Emma Tustin and Thomas Hughes. The five judges are expected to give their decisions at a later date.

Duran Duran to be inducted in Rock and Roll Hall of Fame

Iconic Birmingham band Duran Duran have announced they are set to be inducted in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. The band will join other artists from the region such as Black Sabbath and the Electric Light Orchestra. The 37th Rock and Roll Hall of Fame induction ceremony will take place this November.
