Commuters urged to travel only if necessary

West Midlands Railway and other Midland train services has confirmed it will be running a reduced timetable throughout the week and have urged passengers to only travel if it’s a matter of urgency. Rail workers are walking out on Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday as part of a dispute involving pay and rail industry reforms.

Solihull boy invited to House of Commons for fundraising for NSPCC in memory of Arthur Labinjo Hughes

Two brothers from Solihull - known as the Buck It Boys, have been invited to the House of Commons. Bazzie and Joshua Hines, aged 8 and 6, have decorated 235 buckets to raise money to help children in need following the murder of Arthur Labinjo-Hughes

Snake ‘Arrested’ in Hodge Hill flat

Police were called to a flat in Hodge Hill last week after a one and a half metre snake was found slithering across their living room floor. RSPCA were unable to attend, so two officers equipped with a grabber and a pillowcase lent a hand instead. A response officer was heard joking about whether they need to record the time of arrest.
