Police officer due in court on charges of misconduct in a public office

A serving West Midlands Police officer has been charged with misconduct in a public office following an investigation by the IOPC. It follows allegations he had an inappropriate relationship with a woman he met through the course of his duties. The officer, called Anthony Ritchie, appeared in court on Wednesday.

Dog owner jailed for illegal procedure on pets

A dog owner has received a 16 week sentence after RSPCA inspectors found he had paid to have three puppies’ ears cropped in a banned procedure.  Inspectors visited a home in Kings Norton last August and found the animals still bleeding with stitches in their ears.

Balti Triangle takes place in top 40 travel destinations

Birmingham’s Balti Triangle has appeared in the top 40 UK travel experiences according to a list compiled by a group of experts and voted on by 2000 Brits. The Balti Triangle is an area to the south of the city centre with a high concentration of restaurants specialising in the Birmingham born dish.
