How much Birmingham MPs cost the taxpayer

Figures from the Independent Parliamentary Standards Authority have been released which show how much each Birmingham MP cost the taxpayer in 2020-21. Khalid Mahmood, MP for Perry Barr, topped the list costing taxpayers around £260,000. The average across the UK was £203,880.

Holocaust victims remembered in Birmingham

A free event will take place at Millennium point as Birmingham comes together to remember those who lost their lives during the holocaust. The Lord Mayor of Birmingham will lead the event on Sunday 30th January which starts at 2pm.

Tributes to Peaky Blinders star Helen McCrory from her husband Damian Lewis

Actor Damian Lewis has paid tribute to his late wife Helen McCrory, known for her role as Aunt Polly in Peaky Blinders. During a poetry event dedicated to his late wife at the National Theatre, the Homeland actor paid tribute to the “one person whose thunder would absolutely not be stolen”.
