Shocking CCTV shows moment gunman opens fire in Handsworth

A gunman who shot a man in Handsworth over a suspected drugs dispute has been jailed. Mickelle Sharp left his victim with two gunshot wounds in his arm in the shooting which took place last August. Sharp was convicted at Birmingham Crown Court and sentenced to 21 years in jail.

80 visas accepted for Homes for Ukraine spare room scheme in Birmingham - the 15th highest in the country

The Government’s Homes for Ukraine sponsorship scheme has been criticised after only 3% of applications have resulted in a refugee’s arrival. As of April 5th, 1,200 Ukrainians had arrived in the UK through the scheme. Birmingham had 80 visas approved, the 15th highest number for the 309 town and city councils in the country.

Ed Sheeran stuns Birmingham pubgoers - by turning up for a pint and joining a singalong at The Roost in Small Heath

Ed Sheeran surprised Birmingham City fans on Sunday after turning up at The Roost for a drink with Brummie rapper Jaykae. In a video posted to Twitter, the 31 year old musician can be seen drinking pints with fellow pub goers at the venue near St. Andrews stadium.
