Fifth of Birmingham Airport passengers travel plans were affected by disruption in the first three months of 2022

Data shows that for the first three months of the year 22% of passengers flying out of Birmingham Airport had their travel affected. Staff shortages have led to cancelled or delayed flights, with the airport admitting it is still training staff after being forced to lose almost half of its workers during the pandemic.

Suspected hit and run in Handsworth

Two men aged 24 and 19 have been arrested following a hit and run incident on Soho Road on Wednesday night. A woman in her 40s was found with serious head injuries and taken to hospital where she remains in stable condition.

The Beatles autographs from a visit to Birmingham TV studio in 1963 sell for £8,000

A set of Beatles autographs, signed while they were in a Birmingham television studio in 1963, have sold on auction for nearly £8000. The autographs are adorned with smudges from John Lennon’s greasy fingers as he ate fish and chips. The 73 year old retired teacher from who sold said they were delighted with the result.
