Man dies following crash in Smethwick

Police are appealing for information following the death of a man whose car hit a tree in Smethwick on Sunday night. The driver was a man in his 20s who was confirmed dead at the scene. He carried an eight year old passenger who only sustained minor injuries.

A new test developed at Birmingham Women’s and Children’s NHS Foundation Trust which helps spot a rare form of eye cancer in babies in the womb is being rolled out across the NHS. The test will be offered to pregnant women with a known family history of the disease and can predict if the disease might develop in siblings.
