Labour retain stronghold in Erdington

Labour held on to the Birmingham Erdington seat following the by-election, winning by a comfortable majority of 3,266. Paulette Hamilton replaced the late Jack Dromey as Erdington’s MP, who she paid tribute to in her victory speech.

Figures show that tens of thousands of Birmingham women were not up to date with potentially life saving breast cancer checks last year. There was a 44% fall in the number of women screened last year.

The data shows that 57% of eligible women in Birmingham were up to date with their screenings, short of the national minimum target of 70%.

Man charged with after Kenneth Ford was found dead at a property in Yardley

West Midlands Police have revealed that a man has been charged with the murder of Kenneth Ford. The 30 year old was found collapsed inside a property in Yardley on Monday 28th February.
