Birmingham dad raises over £100,000 to help thousands in Africa in memory of his daughter who died of cancer  

A father from Alum Rock has raised over £100,000 in honour of his late daughter’s final wishes. The 7 year old told her Dad that if he could do anything for her it would be to help those in need in Africa. The money will be used to support the installation of four community water wells in remote Tanzanian villages.

Teenager jailed for knife killing

A teenager has been jailed following the fatal stabbing of a man in Erdington. Suleman Hassan aged 18 admitted to the manslaughter of Lamin Barrow last November. He was originally charged with murder, but plead guilty to manslaughter and was sentenced to nine years in jail.

Police say search for woman is over

West Midlands Police have released an update after publishing a photograph of a woman lying unconscious in Burbury Park. The police were concerned for the woman’s safety, but CCTV revealed she did leave the park without coercion. Police have so far not been able to identify her.
