Birmingham City has been named one of the best places to live in the UK, with special regard to Kings Heath and the Jewellery Quarter, by the Sunday Times. Being able to live car free and opportunities for different lifestyles were a factor in the choice, as well as things like parks, shops and heritage.

Tributes paid to 80 year old woman killed in hit and run crash

Tributes have been paid to a pensioner who died after being hit by a car in Ward End on Tuesday. Irshad Begum struck along Washwood Heath Road in the early evening. Police have charged a 28 year old man from Erdington with causing death by dangerous driving.

Footballing Legends offer support to charity walkers

Football legends David Ginola and Ledley King have lent their support to a group trekking 100 miles between the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium and Villa Park. The group hope to raise £5000 for EyeCan, a charity which offers support to people living with visual impairments.
