Families waiting four weeks for bin collections

Residents in parts of Birmingham have found themselves waiting for up to four weeks for bin collections. Half a million collections have been missed by Birmingham city council between 2017 and 2021. A spokesperson for Birmingham City Council said that the number of homes affected are significantly lower than previous years.

Hundreds treated in local hospitals with Covid over Christmas

Hospitals across Birmingham, Sandwell and Solihull treated 588 Covid patients in December, with one hospital trust seeing a 300% increase. However, the figures also show that there was a reduction in the number of patients requiring ventilators during the same period.

Veterans on road to recovery after restoring vintage bikes for Thinktank

A group of dedicated veterans have teamed up to restore vintage bikes for Birmingham museums as part of their road to recovery. In addition to preserving the prized fleet, a 1914 they restored is now currently on display at the Thinktank science museum.
