1.2 million patients are waiting for hospital treatment in the Midlands

Records show that 1.2 million patients are waiting for hospital treatment in the Midlands, the highest amount of anywhere in England. Nearly 500,000 have been waiting for longer than 18 weeks. None of the hospital trusts in Birmingham are currently meeting their targets.

HS2 plans to build 3 bridges of the A45 Coventry Road in Solihull

HS2 has asked for planning permission to build three bridges over the A45 Coventry Road in Solihull. The bridges would pass over the HS2 railway line located in the Bickenhill area. HS2 have stated they will be mitigating any ecological impact of the construction project.

Birmingham skyline most Instagrammable

According to researchers at TonerGiant, Birmingham’s skyline is the most photogenic in the UK. Their study analysed 7,500 photographs with the hashtag #Birminghamskyline, and found that it had the highest average number of likes per photo compared to other cities at 224 each, with Glasgow coming second at 208 likes.
