Burglaries rise 11% over Christmas in the West Midlands
The West Midlands region saw an 11% spike in burglaries over the Christmas period. West Midlands Police already ranks at the bottom of the league table as it comes to burglaries, where 90.1% of cases going unsolved.
The last five years have seen 4,473 domestic burglaries on average per week recorded across the region.

5% of West Midlands Railway staff off sick as Omicron continues to spread
As Covid cases continue to rise, West Midlands Railway have confirmed that around 5% of their workforce are currently off sick. This has lead to the train operator scaling back many of its services, including bus replacements in some areas, leaving many commuters complaining of disruptions to their travel plans.
