Birmingham and the Midland’s best to worst universities have been published in an annual league table: The Times and The Sunday Times Good University Guide 2023. This reveals the city and region’s 19 universities and their ranking.
The league table encompasses data including graduate prospects, degree results, research quality, and student satisfaction and experience. According to these indicators, The University of Warwick topped the local list, and even made it to ninth place on the UK list.
Carry on reading to find out how Birmingham and the Midland’s other 18 universities ranked in the academic league table:

17. De Montfort University - National rank 122
A campus university — unusually located in a city centre — De Montfort has invested £136 million in teaching and learning spaces to inspire students. Its flagship Vijay Patel Building — named after the leading pharmacist and donor, a graduate — brings together art and design courses and includes the Gallery, the city’s largest display space. | Timmye - stock.adobe.com

18. University of Northampton - National rank 125
Northampton has rationalised its undergraduate curriculum, removing a number of the options for joint honours, but still recorded a 5 per cent rise in applications in a snapshot of the latest admissions round in March 2022. An 8 per cent increase in 2021 suggests that the university has turned the corner in terms of student popularity after four years of decline. | Jevanto Productions - stock.adobe.com

19. University of Wolverhampton - National rank 127
Wolverhampton’s creative course provision has gained new degrees in recent years — such as acting and theatre; dance and creative performance; and digital production arts for theatre. Multimillion-pound investment in the university’s Screen School is keeping pace with the curriculum, with the aim of boosting skills in the digital arts and media industries. | Tupungato - stock.adobe.com
