He’s the veterinary nurse from Birmingham who is among the favourites to win hit BBC show The Traitors.

Miles, aged 36, is among 22 contestants on the psychological reality competition presented by Claudia Winkleman set in a beautiful castle in the Scottish Highlands.  He was installed as a Traitor in the opening episode and has largely evaded suspicion from his fellow contestants.

The winner will scoop a prize fund of up to £120,000 - if they survive the ultimate game of detection, backstabbing and trust as The Traitors attempt to ‘murder’ The Faithfuls.

Miles is one of two Brummie contestants in series two of the show. His fellow Brummie is 45 year-old chess coach Anthony who hasn't featured in the latest bookies odds.

Miles is currently tipped in fourth place to be the outright winner of the show with odds of 5/1 from bettingsites.co.uk. He’s also the third favourite to be among the last Traitors standing with the odds of 11/4 with Harry and Paul ahead of him.

Why did Miles decide to become a contestant on The Traitors?

Miles, who lives in Worcestershire these days, explained his reasons for applying to appear on The Traitors.  The married father of two, who has more than 1,500 followers on Instagram and regularly posts pictures of his husband and children with friends, told the BBC: “Basically, I’ve done everything that I feel like is the cookie cutter thing to do, you know?

“I went to school, went to college, got my qualification, found my husband, had a family. I just thought I’ve done everything so “correct”. When I saw the show, I thought it was quite clever, quite different. It was nicely done. I like that the show has normal, everyday people.

“There are going to be times when you’re going to have beef with people, because we’ll get so involved in the roles that we’re playing. It’s just that, I'm playing a role. As long as my nearest and dearest know that then that’ll make me feel a bit better – it's not real life.”

How is Miles prepared to go to with the show as a Traitor?

Before he entered the show Miles gave some indication about how he would play the role of Traitor, if he was selected by Claudia Winkelman. He said: “All the way. I mean there’s no point doing it if you’re not giving it your all. Last year people respected Wilfred because he wanted to go all the way, even though they might think he was cutthroat.

“The only thing I would say is, I wouldn’t want to be greedy. I think the greediness sometimes makes you fall at the last hurdle. It’s trying to get that nice balance of wanting to get to the end, but not falling at the last hurdle due to greed. So, I would totally go the full way.”

Miles has got lots of plans for prize money of up to £120,000 if he wins. When asked the question ahead of the show being broadcast, he said: “Loads of plastic surgery! No, I’m joking. What I really want to do is get our forever home.

“I’d like to pay off our debts and get into our forever home and really settle our roots. Whilst everything is fine as it is, it would be lovely to go forward with that and live somewhere in the country.”

The Traitors series two airs Wednesday to Friday at 9pm on BBC One.
