Metro disruption between Wolverhampton and Birmingham due to overhead line damage

West Midlands Metro services are disrupted this morning following damage to overhead lines near the depot.

As of 05:50 today (Monday, 7th), trams are not running between Wolverhampton Station and West Bromwich Central. The issue has forced a partial suspension of service, with only five trams operating between West Bromwich Central and Edgbaston Village.

To help passengers continue their journeys, tickets are being accepted on the following alternative routes:

  • National Express West Midlands buses 79 and 74, and other services between Colmore Row and Hagley Road
  • West Midlands Railway services between Wolverhampton and Birmingham

Engineers are working to repair the overhead line damage as quickly as possible. West Midlands Metro has apologised for the disruption and inconvenience caused.
