Here’s what you need to know about rail strikes in Birmingham and the West Midlands this April

Rail strikes are taking place across the UK this April

ASLEF, the trade union representing train drivers, has announced strike action tomorrow - Friday, April 5, and an overtime ban between Thursday 4 to Saturday April 6 and between Monday 8 to Tuesday April 9.

There will be no West Midlands Railway services running on Friday April 5, with a number of services in the region also affected by the strikes on Saturday, through to Tuesday (April 9).

Services will be subject to disruption and cancellations during this period.

Saturday, April 6

Birmingham - Hereford (via Worcester) The following West Midlands Railway services will not operate:

08:40 Hereford to Birmingham New Street
19:40 Hereford to Birmingham New Street
22:50 Hereford to Worcester Shrub Hill (please note: this is the last service of the day)
05:34 Worcester Shrub Hill to Great Malvern
06:50 Birmingham New Street to Hereford
17:50 Birmingham New Street to Hereford
21:20 Birmingham New Street to Hereford

Monday, April 8 & Tuesday, April 9

Leamington Spa - Nuneaton
No services (full rail replacement)

Friday 5th April: Avanti West Coast, East Midlands Railway, London Northwestern Railway and CrossCountry.
Saturday 6th April: Chiltern Railways, Great Western Railway, LNER, Northern, Heathrow Express and TransPennine Express.
Monday 8th April: c2c, Greater Anglia (including Stansted Express), Great Northern, Thameslink, Southeastern, Southern, Gatwick Express and South Western Railway (including Island Line).
