To avoid travel disruption, it’s better to plan ahead and seek alternative travel routes. For that purpose, here are all the travel disruptions that are in place on Easter Monday.

Trains

Network Rail are delivering engineering works across the rail network this Easter and over the Early May Bank Holiday weekend.

On Monday 10 April, rail replacement buses will be in operation between Lichfield Trent Valley and Birmingham New Street over the Easter weekend. Trains will be operating between Birmingham – Redditch / Bromsgrove as normal during this time. West Midlands Railway services are affected by rail engineering work on the CrossCity North line with no trains between Lichfield Trent Valley and Aston.

Due to engineering works impacting journeys to/from London Euston and urgent safety assessments of a viaduct between Didcot Parkway and Oxford, Chiltern Railways services between Birmingham and London Marylebone are expected to be extremely busy. As such, you’re advised to only travel via this route if essential. For less busy services, you’re advised to use trains between Birmingham New Street - Milton Keynes Central, and rail replacement buses to Bedford for onward connections to London St Pancras.
