Eight in 10 UK adults are planning a physical shopping trip this year, according to research by digital bank Chase.

In particular Christmas shoppers are planning to visit stores they missed out on last year - highlighting Christmas markets (29 per cent), Christmas lights and trees (19 per cent), Christmas window displays (11 per cent) and Santa’s grotto (8 per cent).

But despite the enthusiasm for real-life shopping this year, shoppers say they expect to find it stressful - naming crowds (57 per cent), queues (52 per cent), finding a parking spot (27 per cent), being out in bad weather (21 per cent), and getting over-heated (14 per cent)as the top stress-inducers.

The research has inspired Chase to bring its Octagon experience to the Bullring from December 11 to 28 where visitors will receive a £5 gift card for free and be entered into a prize draw for a chance to win up to £1,000.
