NHS trusts across Birmingham. Sandwell and Solihull were caring for 250 coronavirus patients, latest figures show.

The NHS England data for Tuesday (October 26) show the figure had increased by 7 across the five trusts from the previous week.

Across England there were 6,883 people in hospital with Covid on the same date, with 803 of them in mechanical ventilation beds.

The number of Covid-19 patients hospitalised nationally has increased by 34% in the last four weeks, while the number on mechanical ventilators has increased by 18%.

The number of patients on ventilation locally has not been provided.

University Hospitals Birmingham Trust (includes Queen Elizabeth, Heartlands, Good Hope and Solihull Hospitals) -  196 patients, up from 185 patients the previous week. 28 days earlier there were 152.

Birmingham Women’s and Children’s Trust - 3 patients, down from 5 the previous week. 28 days earlier there were 4.

Royal Orthopaedic Hospital Trust - 1 patient, up from zero the previous week. 28 days earlier there had been 1.

Sandwell and West Birmingham Hospitals NHS Trust (includes City and Sandwell hospitals) - 64 patients, up from 51 the previous week. 28 days earlier there were 55.

Birmingham and Solihull Mental Health NHS Foundation - 3 patients, up from 1 the previous week.

Birmingham Community Healthcare Trust - 13 patients, up from 8 the previous week.
