Two teens arrested in Tipton on suspicion of assaulting another teenager

West Midlands Police said that they had two teenagers in custody yesterday (May 18) on suspicion of assaulting another teenager in Tipton on May 7.

Hide AdThe 16-year-old victim was chased along Webb Road and fell. His two assailants, also both 16, attacked him with a knuckleduster, causing a cut to the back of his head, and punched him, leaving him with bruises.
The two boys were arrested from their home addresses yesterday morning (May 18) and were to be questioned.
West Midlands Police said: “It’s very concerning when teenagers are carrying weapons and intent on causing others harm. We’re out and about across Sandwell as part of a national week of action to tackle knife crime.
“We’ve carried out weapon sweeps, joint patrols and raised awareness around youth violence as part of ongoing activity across Sandwell for Operation Sceptre.

Hide Ad“But it doesn’t stop at the end of the week – we will continue our patrols and urge anyone with information about young people carrying weapons to contact us.”
Previously, West Midlands Police said they had installed a knife arch in Birmingham city centre to detect weapons.
