Teenage girl found in critical condition at North Solihull Sports Centre

A teenage girl is currently in hospital after being found in critical condition at a Solihull sports centre last night (28 February).

Paramedics and a trauma doctor were called to the incident at North Solihull Sports Centre on Conway Road just after 9pm.

They found the teenager in a critical condition, and she’s been taken to Birmingham Children’s Hospital for treatment.

A spokesman for the West Midlands Ambulance Service, said: “We were called to reports of a medical emergency at North Solihull Sports Centre on Conway Road at 9.05pm.

“Two ambulances, two paramedic officers and a MERIT trauma doctor were sent to the scene. On arrival we discovered a female teenager in a critical condition.

“She received specialist trauma care at the scene before being taken to Birmingham Children’s Hospital for further treatment.”

The sports centre has closed following the incident.

A statement on the centre’s website, read: “Due to unforeseen circumstances, the centre will be closed until further notice.

“We apologise for any inconvenience caused and we will contact all customers when the centre is due to reopen again.”
