Officers have arrested two teenagers after an 17-year-old suffered knife wounds in Churchill Road, Sutton Coldfield at about 5.30pm yesterday (Sunday).

Officers attended and found the teenager with stab injuries to his chest and hand being treated by paramedics before he was taken to hospital.

His injuries are not believed to be life-threatening and he remains in a serious but stable condition today (Monday).

Following quick-time enquiries two teenagers were arrested at addresses in Sutton Coldfield and Tamworth last night.

A 15-year-old arrested on suspicion of wounding assault and a 14-year-old on attempted murder remain in police custody today as enquiries continue.

DI Junior Stephens from Force CID, said: "We have made two arrests but our investigation is on-going.

"We have trawled CCTV footage and spoken with a number of people at the scene, but this is a busy area and we’d urge anyone who hasn’t spoken with us to get in touch.

“Knife violence impacts all our communities and we need your help as we work to keep you safe.”
