Road closed in Stechford after gunshots fired

A road in Stechford, Birmingham was closed after gunshots were heard. Commuters have been asked to avoid the area.

Gunshots were heard in the early hours of Sunday morning, according to the BBC. A group of men reportedly left a car and fired shots at a different car.

Stechford Village Neighbourhood Forum said that it was a speeding accident on Station Road near the Shell garage. Police have cordoned off road in both directions. Motorists were asked to use alternative routes.

BBC reported that West Midlands Police believes more shots may have been fired on Caldwell Road but no injuries were reported.

The police have appealed witnesses or anyone with information to contact the force.

National Express West Midlands bus services 11A and 11C were diverted due to the road closure.
