Sophie, who played Jean Gray in the X-Men franchise, was previously spotted in Jewellery Quarter reportedly shooting for ITVX’s new six-part drama, Joan, in which she plays the title role. The series will be produced with The CW Network, USA in association with All3Media International. The series is based on Joan Hannington, a notorious jewel thief.
The 27-year-old actress, who rose to fame with her debut as Sansa Stark in Game of Thrones, has been married to Joe since May 2019. The beautiful actress has also starred in two of Jonas Brothers music videos along with her sisters-in-law, including Priyanka Chopra.
The music videos for Sucker and What A Man Gotta Do show how loved up the couple are since they met seven years ago.
How did Sophie Turner and Joe Jonas meet?
Mutual friends of the couple had been trying to set up in 2016 but they only met after Joe slid into her DMs. “We had a lot of mutual friends, and they’d been trying to introduce us for a long time. We were following each other on Instagram and he direct-messaged me one fine day, out of the blue,” Sophie was quoted as saying to People magazine.
The poprock band’s frontman asked Sophie to hang out with him when his was touring the U.K. in October 2016. However, she went with her friends for the date.
“We talked for hours, and hours, and hours. And I was, like, not bored. It wasn’t contrived. It wasn’t small talk — it was just so easy. And soon we were, like, inseparable. I went on tour with him,” Turner shared. Soon, they were spotted everywhere together and they got engaged almost exactly a year after they met.
She sat down with Marie Claire for an interview and said: “It’s lovely to be engaged. Not like I achieved anything, but I found my person, like I’d find a house that I love and want to stay in forever. There’s a sense of peace that comes with finding your person. But there’s a drive that comes with your career.”
Sophie Turner & Joe Jonas’ two weddings
On May 1, 2019, they tied the knot by eloping to A Little White Wedding Chapel in Las Vegas. For wedding rings, they used Ring Pop candy rings.
“We had to get legally married in the states, so we thought it’d be really fun to get all of our friends, invite them out, and do an impromptu wedding. And we actually had some people that I didn’t really even know that well there,” Joe later told GQ.
Joe, who is close to his family, realised later that while his brothers - Kevin and Nick - were present, he forgot to tell his parents about the wedding. On June 29, 2019, the couple had a luxurious second wedding and celebration at Le Château de Tourreau in Sarrians, France. It was a private affair with only close friends and family. The couple welcomed their first child, Willa, on July 22, 2020.
“It’s what life is about for me — raising the next generation. The greatest thing in life is seeing my daughter go from strength to strength. We’re so excited to be expanding the family. It’s the best blessing ever,” Sophie told Elle UK while speaking about motherhood. The beautiful couple were blessed again and welcomed their second daughter in July 2022.
