On Wednesday March 1, Year 6 pupils across the country will find out which secondary school has offered them a place for September 2023.
Last year, 94.4% of applicants in the UK for a secondary school place received an offer from one of their top three choices, while 83.3% were offered their first-choice secondary school.
It comes as teachers across the country prepare to take more industrial action for better pay. On 1 March, union members are set to strike in the Midlands and eastern regions in England and further walkouts will take place across Wales and the south of England on Thursday.
