Man charged with robbery after woman attacked at home in Solihull

An investigation was launched and a 42-year-old man was arrested yesterday (April 13)

A man was charged after a woman was attacked in her own home in Solihull.

On March 7, 2023, the 64-year-old woman was at her home in Olton when she opened the door to let her dogs out in the garden around 11pm and saw a man standing there.

The man forced his way into her home and assaulted the woman, grabbing her neck and pushing her to the floor. After stealing her handbag, bank cards and cash, he threatened her before running off.

An investigation was launched and a 42-year-old man was arrested yesterday (April 13). He was charged with robbery and will appear before Coventry Magistrates Court today (April 14).

He was also recalled to prison for breaching his license conditions.

DC Dave Ballard from the Priority Crime Team, said: “This was a terrifying ordeal for the victim who was left understandably scared and shaken by the incident.

“If you suspect suspicious behaviour or something doesn’t feel right, we would always urge you to get in touch.”
