Three arrested as car stolen in Solihull recovered in less than two hours

Three men were arrested after a car was recovered by West Midlands Police less than two hours after it was stolen in Solihull.

West Midlands Police received a call of a vehicle being taken following a burglary off Loxley Avenue, Shirley, at around 1.40am yesterday (July 9).

The police suspects the Toyota Aygo was used in an attempted burglaries in Shirley and Bournville after it was stolen from Loxley Avenue, Shirley. The car was spotted by officers and following a pursuit the vehicle was brought to a stop in Colebrook Road at around 3.20am.

Two men, aged 18 and 21, have now been arrested on suspicion of burglary and driving offences. A 19-year-old man has also been detained on suspicion of burglary and all three remain in custody for questioning.

West Midlands Police said: “We know the impact and inconvenience of vehicle crime and we’re committed to catching those involved.”
