Smethwick cannabis farm worth £200,000 raided by police - one man arrested in dawn raid

Around £200,000 worth of cannabis plants have been taken off the streets of Smethwick.

At around 7.15am on Monday morning (October 30), the Smethwick Neighbourhood Police Team executed a warrant at a property on Hagley Road West.

Officers discovered around 200 cannabis plants inside which is thought to be worth an estimated street value of £200,000. The electricity meter had also been bypassed to power the grow. A man, aged 27 has been arrested on suspicion of cultivating cannabis.

A stament from the force, read: “All cannabis plants seized from the address will be destroyed. It comes as we’re working together with partners to tackle crime, anti-social behaviour and other community concerns through the current Safer 6 campaign in Sandwell.”
