Two men have been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder

Two men have been arrested after gunshots were fired at a shop in Smethwick earlier this week.

Two men in their 40s were treated for injuries after police were called to the store on Bertram Road on Thursday, 12 January.

An investigation into the circumstances that surrounded the shooting has led to two people being arrested.

Two men aged 23 and 24 were arrested on suspicion of attempted murder after a vehicle was stopped by Bedfordshire police yesterday evening (13 January).

The men remain in police custody.

A statement from West Midlands Police, read: “Although we have made arrests, we are still asking anyone with information to contact us via Live Chat on our website and quoting crime number 20/80288/23.
