Lenville was detained on Friday (November 11) afternoon and the 58-year-old from Birmingham has now been charged with murder. He has been remanded into custody to appear before Birmingham Magistrates Court tomorrow (November 14).

“We’re supporting family members, who have released an image of Clifton, during this difficult time,” said West Midlands Police.

Previously, the police said Clifton was discovered with knife wounds at a house on Waverley Road. Despite the best efforts of paramedics, he was pronounced dead at the scene.

Detective Inspector Jim Colclough, from Force CID, had said: “Our thoughts remain with the Waite family at this awful time and our extensive investigations are continuing as we remain focussed on bringing them some closure.”
